Meet Val
As a level 4 certified educator and mother, I have 23 years of experience in nurturing children of all ages. I own my own home, which features inviting indoor and outdoor spaces, including a grassy garden and a concrete area for little ride-ons. It is my priority to create an environment where your child feels happy, welcomed, and secure. I look forward to partnering with parents to support the growth and development of their children, celebrating every milestone along the way. Together, we can create a joyful and enriching early learning experience that sets the foundation for a lifelong love of learning.

My Background and experience
ECE Qualified Educator with over 20 years’ experience.
I’m a level 4 certified educator/mum with 23 years experience of nurturing all ages of preschoolers. I own my own home and offer comfortable inside/outside areas including a grassed garden and a concrete space for little ride ons.
My Home-Based Childcare Philosophy
I am a big advocate for nature based play, as I see the positive effects of how it helps to create a healthy body and a happy, curious, learning state of mind, while also fostering social and cognitive development. So we also visit Cornwall park, Ambury farm and local parks with safe, green areas to explore.
My learning Environment
I own my own home with a cozy and comfortable inside space and a lovely outdoor grassed area. I believe in creating an environment where your child feels happy, welcomed and secure, this is very important to me.
I enjoy getting outside with the children so we are usually out and about in the mornings visiting community resources ie the zoo, Motat and playgroups, with afternoons at home.
Testimonial
In home care at Vals has been a wonderful experience for our child. Since the moment we went to visit, we knew it was the perfect daycare setting for Sophie and the place we wanted her to play, learn and grow.
Val is very calm and shows great morals. Sophie attended Val’s for just over 4 years and it was really like a second home to our daughter. Val’s family are very kind and nurturing (including the dogs). The family vibe rubbed off onto us and we felt a part of the family ourselves. We feel very fortunate that she was so well cared for here and always recommend Val to everyone!
Sophie is now at school but still asks to see Val and her family and would happily go to them at a drop of a hat.
Val provided care for our little boy from 18 months old. He was born with a cleft palate so we needed to know that he was in an environment where he was in close contact with an ECE who could assist with his communication and not necessarily get lost amidst a large daycare. He absolutely thrived with Val. She became like a member of our extended family, taking him and the other children on wonderful excursions to the Zoo, Ambury Farm, Cornwall Park and Oratia Playgroup regularly.
It requires a high level of trust choosing a single educator for your child, but I entirely trusted Val and her approach to care and education.
The other upside to choosing Val was that we very rarely got sick. The small group numbers meant we weren’t exposed to all the usual winter bugs.
I would not hesitate in recommending Val as your child’s educator. She is warm, genuine, caring and committed to seeing children within her care flourish.
You are welcome to contact me to discuss further if needed.
