My Background and experience
I hold a Diploma in Early Childhood Education and care from the University of the South Pacific in Fiji. A clean police vet and a few years of experience as an educator. My Home-based Childcare.
My Home-Based Childcare Philosophy
I believe that every child is unique and a precious gift. Understanding each child’s individual needs and strengths plays a vital role in supporting their growth and achievement of developmental milestones. This belief continually guides me and strengthens my practice as an educator, while creating an environment in which children can truly flourish.
My goal is to provide a nurturing, loving, and safe environment filled with joy and laughter. Children learn best when they feel accepted, valued, loved, and secure, and I strive to ensure these values are reflected in my care each day.
I am committed to supporting children not only in developing academic skills, but also in building essential life skills and positive experiences that encourage confidence and a lifelong love of learning.
Due to small group sizes, I am able to offer individualized, one-on-one attention, ensuring each child receives the care, warmth and support they deserve.
I am passionate about nature-based learning and incorporate this approach into my teaching practice. Guided by the belief that “environment is the third teacher,” I create open-ended spaces that inspire curiosity, collaboration, and exploration through open-ended materials and meaningful experiences.
As a home-based educator, I am dedicated to maintaining a nurturing, loving, safe and engaging environment where your children would feel happy, supported, and encouraged to learn, grow and enjoy each day as it unfolds.
My learning Environment
My home provides a warm and welcoming atmosphere, featuring a securely fenced compound and a spacious open deck where children can engage in various activities such as painting, exploring, sand play and gardening. Children’s play area is thoughtfully organised in the living room, offering ample natural light through numerous windows, allowing children to play and be comfortable.
We will regularly participate in well-organised outings, which will include visits to the library, leisurely walks to the gardens and excursions to nearby parks. Additionally, we will explore different playgrounds on a rotating schedule. There will be playgroups for both educators and children providing everyone with an opportunity to socialise and learn from one another, thereby enhancing their social interaction skills.
At the end of the day’s activities, children will have a quite time to unwind, relax and enjoy a nap.
My Commitment
My goal is to provide a true “home away from home” where every child feels cherished, supported, and encouraged to grow with confidence, curiosity, and joy.
