Margret Adeke

Kia ora, I’m Margret Adeke. I’m originally from Uganda and now raising my family here in Auckland. I’m a mum to a 4-month-old daughter and I absolutely love being around children. I’ve opened my home to provide warm, flexible care for families, especially parents working early shifts.

Working hours

Monday to Friday, 6:00am – 5:30pm

I open early at 6:00am to support parents who work 7:00am shifts and can’t make standard centre hours. Full-day and part-day options are available.

My Activities

With my own 4-month-old here, I’m especially set up for gentle care of babies and toddlers.

My Background and experience

I’m a mum with years of experience caring for children in my family and community. I’m Police Vetted, hold a current First Aid Certificate, and work closely with my coordinator to meet all Ministry of Education standards. As a parent myself, I know how important trust, safety, and communication are.

My Home-Based Childcare Philosophy

All cultures are welcome in my home. I believe every child should feel celebrated for who they are. I run a small, calm group of a maximum of 4 children so every child gets real one-on-one attention. My approach is play-based and unrushed, following Te Whāriki.

My learning Environment

My home is fully fenced with a dedicated sleep space for babies and a cosy play area. We have age-appropriate toys, books, art supplies, and outdoor space for fresh air every day. It feels like a second home, not a centre.

My Commitment

My goal is to provide a true “home away from home” where every child feels cherished, supported, and encouraged to grow with confidence, curiosity, and joy.
