Kia Ora, I am Nadine
I have been living in Waiuku since 2009, moving from Papakura. I have lived in South Auckland most of my life. I also lived in London for 7 years doing my OE. I live with my husband and 2 teenage daughters, one of whom recently began studying at university. We also have a pet cat, Hokey, and previously owned a dog, who sadly passed away. We are in town on a half ache section. I enjoy being with my family and friends, camping, exploring new places, and baking and decorating cakes.

My Background and experience
Prior to becoming a Qualified ECE Teacher, Level 4 in Early Childhood Education, I was a family Social Worker, with a Bachelor in Social Work. I loved my job working alongside family/whanau in the best interest of their child/children/tamariki, learning a lot along the way. Once having our own children, the desire to work from home, and to continue to work with children led me to become an In-Home-Educator in 2011.
My Home-Based Childcare Philosophy
I am passionate about my job, and offer a calm, warm, safe family environment. Children are cared for with love, respect and an abundance of patience. My family embrace my job, and welcome all children treating them like family, creating a truly authentic home experience. With an extensive knowledge about attachment I support each child to feel safe and secure in my care, thereby allowing them to grow in confidence and reach their full potential. I use a range of resources and opportunities, both in my home, and in our local community to explore children’s interests and expand their skills, to teach children new skills and support them to become confident individuals who are curious about learning. I believe in having lots of fun, laughing, learning through play and guiding with patience and love.
Being in an In-Home environment, ratios are very low, giving your precious child the one to one attention and care needed to fully support a child’s ever changing developmental needs.
Due to my commitment in building strong attachments with children and making the introduction process as stress free as possible for your child and you, I offer a free introduction programme prior to your child starting with me. I would love to hear from you to discuss this more.
My learning Environment
We have a large outdoor area for playing and exploring, with plenty of space to ride tricycles, cars, and kick a ball around. We have a tramp with a safety net, along with an extensive inside play area with a dedicated playroom full of resources for children to discover and learn from. We also utilise the community activities available in our area. Activities we enjoy at home include, but are not limited to, craft, colouring, drawing, playdoh, blocks, books, puzzles, board games, cars, diggers, dress ups, and the list goes on. I have resources and toys to cater to all age groups. We also enjoy regular outings into the community.
