I have been doing home-based childcare full time for 13 years and have gained a lot of experience caring for over 50 children. I have studied and gained the level 4 ECE qualification for this job and hold a current first aid certificate.

My home-based childcare philosophy is to create a fun and happy environment that nurtures children’s development, physically, and mentally. I support the children by planning and providing a variety of activities based on their interests. I aim to encourage the children to be creative and gain confidence as they learn through play.

My environment and activities include a big outdoor play space in a rural setting with kune kune pigs, sheep, horses and cows around us. A sensory play table, water play, sandpit, trampoline, playhouse and swings. Arts and craft activities. Sports equipment and obstacle courses. A large selection of toys to play with. Library story time/lots of books to read, puzzles, bush walks, playground visits, Kaiwaka play centre learning te reo Māori language, waiatas and poi, Bike riding, Trips eg Zoo, Butterfly Creek, Sheepworld and Kelly Tarltans.
