Meet Helen
Hi I’m Helen, a home-based educator with 12 years of experience. I live in the beautiful Stanmore Bay and have three wonderful children of my own. I strive to create strong connections with my families and children to foster positive relationships and learning experiences based on the child’s interests. I feel It is a privilege for me to be able to nurture and love your precious babies!

My Background and experience
I have been a Home-Based Child Educator for 12 years and have three beautiful children of my own. I also have a current first aid certificate.
My Home-Based Childcare Philosophy
As a Home-based Educator, I believe that a Whanau/Educator connection is an important platform for a child’s well-being and it allows the children to form a strong attachment necessary for meaningful learning and development.
I have a very strong belief that children under 5 years old should learn through play, and have that freedom to express themselves, but also be guided to extend their interests.
My learning Environment
My learning environment reflects my interests, which include caring for animals, cooking, and nature. I love to include these things in day-to-day learning with the children.
We also attend playgroups, visit parks, enjoy beach and bush walks, and go on group trips to involve the children in the community!
