Meet Harpreet

Hello, I am Harpreet, I am a passionate Early Childhood Education (ECE teacher). I grew up in India and have two beautiful boys. Being a mother I understand the importance of quality care for your little ones, and do my best to provide that in my home-based childcare. My top priority is your child’s wellbeing and making sure they are happy, safe and feel loved. Being originally from India, I am fluent in Hindi, Punjabi, and English, I am excited to introduce these languages into my home-based childcare! I have a deep commitment to nurturing curiosity in children and encouraging them to become independent thinkers with a strong sense of self. I look forward to connecting with like-minded families and having the opportunity to work for your family and support your child’s growth and development.

My Background and Experience

I have over three years of experience caring for children aged 0-6 and even more experience as a mother. I am currently in training working towards my ECE level 4. I am fluent in Hindi, English and Punjabi and have an interest in learning more about the New Zealand Early Childhood Education Curriculum and incorporating this into my teaching practice.

My Home-Based Childcare Philosophy

My home-based childcare philosophy is centered around ensuring the happiness, safety and a sense of love for each child I look after. I believe in the importance of inclusiveness and connection to culture. I am fluent in Hindi, English and Punjabi and I am eager to introduce these languages to the children in my care and also learn the about the New Zealand Early Childhood Education Curriculum and culture. I strongly believe in building strong relationships with children, their families, and the wider community. My aim is to create a welcoming and nurturing environment, where children feel respected and safe.

My Learning Environment

My home is warm and cozy where children can feel safe and happy. In the living room, I have set up a play area with toys and lots of books for children to play with. I have a fully fenced house where children can run, play and explore with outdoor activities.

I enjoy arranging outings to various local community attractions like parks, Kiwi Valley farm, Butterfly Creek, The Zoo and more during my time together with the children. With a fully fenced house and a wealth of educational materials, I ensure that children are activity engaged in activities that match and follow their interests.
